The Girl Who Knows logo

Sofia, the famous Girl Who Knows, may very well be the state’s youngest mind reader. Just 20 years old, this gifted young telepath already has appeared in newspaper articles, been featured in a radio documentary and performed before the likes of magician David Blaine. You can often catch Sofia’s psychic demonstrations along South Congress Avenue, where she has gained a reputation as one of Austin’s top street performers.

Joining her is her father, Jake Cordero, who also serves as co-host of The Austin Seance. When working in the employ of his daughter, Jake serves as the “bottler”1 — that is, the gatherer of crowds and collector of tips. The daughter-and-dad duo has performed at street festivals, on Texas stages, for private parties and even at the French Quarter in New Orleans.  True believers and skeptics agree: Sofia, The Girl Who Knows, is terrific fun.

Be amazed.

1 Bottling, a service historically performed by a trained monkey, comes naturally to Jake.

Sofia is currently on sabbatical. Her father, however, appears regularly as co-host of The Austin Seance, which presents modern recreations of old-time seances. Details about sittings can be found here.
